We have been granted funding to run a series of FREE community events in 2023. Mark your calendar for:

24 June 2023 – Repair & Share returns!
2-5pm (last repair at 4.30pm)
Our next event will once again bring the joy of repairing and refurbishing to Kew, at The Avenue Halls, St Luke’s Church. Our team of volunteer ‘repairers’ will offer their time and advice to help our community have a go at reviving broken items.
Our repairers can turn their hands and talents to small/household electronics (no microwaves), toys, soft furnishings and textiles, and bike maintenance.
We hope this free, fun event will be a learning experience for our visitors, and help people to enjoy making things last longer!
>>> REPAIRERS AND VOLUNTEERS ARE STILL NEEDED >>> GET IN TOUCH IF YOU CAN HELP >>> THANKS!
Further events to be announced shortly. Watch this space or sign up to our newsletter below for updates as they happen.
With thanks to our calendar funders:

22 April – Deepen Your Nature Connection ONLINE EVENT

11 March 2023 – Repair & Share at the Kew EcoFair

Hosted by St Luke’s Church, this new event aimed to empower & inspire members of the local community to tackle climate change. Kew The Transition hosted its first Repair & Share event of the year to which people brought along items that needed some tender loving care and our experts tried to help breathe new life into them!
What we did in 2022

We invited Kew The Transition members and anyone interested in sustainability in our community to meet in person at The Greyhound on Kew Green for an informal chat. We hope to make this a regular event in the Kew and Richmond Green calendar to get momentum behind collaboration.

As part of LBRUT Clean & Green Week and the national Big Green Week, we enjoyed some fun, friendly face time with current Kew The Transition members and anyone interested in learning more about our group and aims – and exploring how we can create a sustainable, resilient community fit for our climate-challenged future at St Luke’s Open Space on Sandycombe Road.

Repair & Share – 28 May 2022, 2:30-5:30pm
Our first repair event brought the joy of repairing and refurbishing to Kew, at The Avenue Halls, St Luke’s. We assembled a team of volunteer ‘repairers’ who offered their time and advice to help our community have a go at reviving broken items.
Our repairers looked at computers, phones, small/household electronics (no microwaves), toys, soft furnishings and textiles, and we had someone to help with bike-service questions also on the day. We hope this free, fun event was a learning experience for our visitors, and helped people to enjoy making things last longer!

Seed Share – Pop up in Kew Village
We popped up in Kew Village to offer up our remaining veg and flower seeds.
Seed Share – 27 March 2022, 11:00am – 2:00pm
On Mothering Sunday we brought our gazebo back to Kew Plaza, and brought all the seeds we could gather to our community. We talked Transition and offered up seeds to start your Spring planting. We also offered sunflower seeds in solidarity with Ukraine.
